Tools For Integrating Green Chemistry into Your Classroom

This conference is now CLOSED. However, if you registered for the conference, then you can still log in and access the materials. Beyond Benign is proud to partner with the Journal of Chemical Education and ChemEd X to host this virtual conference. By participating in Tools for Integrating Green Chemistry in Your Classroom, you will engage with each other alongside experts in the field of green chemistry education through critiquing and discussing labs and lessons for teaching chemistry through the lens of sustainable innovations. By investigating novel technologies, exploring green chemistry alternatives to traditional experiments, and evaluating a fresh perspective on chemical modeling, you will gain a deeper understanding of green chemistry principles and practices to integrate into your classrooms.

Chemistry Instruction for the Next Generation

Dates:
Monday, May 8, 2017 to Saturday, May 27, 2017

This conference is now CLOSED. However, if you registered for the conference, then you can still log in and access the materials. Evidence indicates that using student-centered methods of teaching chemistry results in a higher level of understanding for the students. Moving from traditional teaching methods to inquiry driven curriculum does not occur overnight and significant barriers to making the transition exist for both teachers and students. Next generation teaching standards such as AP Chemistry and Next Generation Science Standards have an increased emphasis on inquiry. Chemistry Instruction for the Next Generation endeavors to provide a forum for discussing how we can best overcome these barriers to provide better outcomes for our students.
