The Dynamic Density Bottle: A Make-and-Take, Guided Inquiry Activity on Density describes an activity I have used in a variety of venues spanning from science camp through General Chemistry classes. This activity naturally connects to many of the practices outlined in the Next Generation Science Standards. A worksheet that guides students through a guided inquiry activity as they construct a dynamic density bottle can be found with the JCE article highlighted in this session and on the Journal of Chemical Education’s website. In addition, Tom has written blog posts that include video of extensions to the original article.
